CSAD issues 24-month sanction To Luis Pajuelo-Revilla For Anti-Doping Policy Violation

Pajuelo-Revilla tested positive for the presence of 19-norandrosterone and Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) analysis that reflected values consistent with the exogenous origin of testosterone and its metabolites, both anabolic steroids that are prohibited at all times, in a urine sample that was collected out of competition on August 5, 2024, in Lima, Peru. A subsequent sample collected from Pajuelo-Revilla on August 21, 2024, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, also tested positive for 19-norandrosterone and IRMS analysis consistent with the exogenous origin of testosterone. Pajuelo-Revilla admitted the use of deca-durabolin (nandrolone) leading up to these sample collections.

Lutterbach tested positive for the presence of 3a-Hydroxy-2a-methyl-5a-androstan-17-one, a metabolite of drostanolone, an anabolic steroid that is prohibited at all times, in a urine sample collected out of competition by Drug Free Sport International (DFSI), the biological sample collection and shipping agency of the UFC’s ADP, on June 8, 2024. Upon his onboarding into the UFC Anti-Doping Program in May of 2024, Lutterbach failed to disclose the use of a prohibited substance leading up to his signing with the UFC, as all new UFC athletes are required to do. A sample collection and expedited analysis was executed BEFORE Lutterbach’s UFC debut in Saudi Arabia, detecting the presence of a metabolite of drostanolone and preventing him for competing. After Lutterbach’s notification of the adverse finding and his admission of knowingly failing to disclose such use, his UFC contract was terminated.

Arruda da Silva tested positive for the presence of 3a-Hydroxy-2a-methyl-5a-androstan-17-one, a metabolite of drostanolone, an anabolic steroid that is prohibited at all times, in a urine sample collected out of competition by Drug Free Sport International (DFSI), the biological sample collection and shipping agency of the UFC’s ADP, on April 11, 2024. The estimated concentration of the drostanolone metabolite in Arruda da Silva’s April 11th sample was less than 1ng/ml. Additionally, Arruda da Silva provided negative samples on March 30, 2024, the date of his last fight, as well as on April 30, 2024, and June 14, 2024. The April 30, 2024, sample was provided by Arruda da Silva to DFSI BEFORE he was notified of the April 11, 2024, adverse finding.

Abdelwahab tested positive for values consistent with the administration of testosterone of exogenous origin in multiple urine samples collected by Drug Free Sport International (DFSI) in April and May of 2024. The source of the positive samples was traced to a dietary supplement Abdelwahab purchased from a major big box retailer in the United States. The supplement was not 3rd party tested and certified by one of the UFC Anti-Doping Program’s approved certification companies like all UFC athletes are educated.

Alekseeva tested positive for values consistent with the administration of testosterone of exogenous origin in a urine sample collected by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on June 21, 2023, while USADA was still the independent administrator of the UFC’s Anti-Doping Program (UFC ADP). However, USADA failed to report the results of this sample to her and to UFC until October 31, 2023, more than four (4) months after the sample was collected and AFTER Alekseeva was allowed to compete in a UFC event in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 14, 2023.

Walt Harris tested positive for the presence of drostanolone, its metabolite, and exogenous testosterone from June 24 and July 12, 2023 collected samples. Subsequently, and after being notified of the first positive samples, Harris tested positive for anastrolzole, a new prohibited substance not detected in earlier samples, as well as the re-administration of testosterone from August 6, 2023 collected samples.
